Dharma, Dialogue & Meditation is suitable for complete beginners through to those that have a good understanding of Buddhist practise and theory. The format of the group will consist of a half-hour guided meditation, followed by an exploration of the Buddha's teaching taken from the Pali Cannon.
The emphasis in each group will be on the practise of ‘dialogue’. The practise of ‘dialogue’ involves the elements of ‘Presence, Inclusion and Genuine Communication’.
This is a closed group for the 5 or 6 week block. After the block, the group will reopen for new people to join (subject to space) and close again for a further five/six weeks. The purpose of the closed group is to allow for trust, safety and depth to develop in the group.
Rory Singer has been a practising psychotherapist for over 15 years. He is a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and BACP Accredited Trainer. Before working as a therapist, he trained as a Buddhist monk for five years in the Thai Forest Tradition. He has “as a core practice the integration within myself of the Buddhist and the Psychotherapist.” Over the years he has become increasingly interested in the practice of ‘dialogue’ as an aid to meditation and practice.
