Sam Oliver

I am currently training as a Counselling Psychologist and I identify closely with humanistic values. This means that I see every person as unique and full of potential to grow and develop. I believe that the relationships we have with the people and the world around us are a vital part of our wellbeing.

Whatever issues we face, I believe that therapy can help us to take a step back and explore how we feel about ourselves, our relationships and our world. My first priority is to establish a trusting connection with clients so that we can embark on this exploration together. More than anything, I want to understand what matters to you and how you want to move forwards.

I have over 5 years’ experience in the areas of mental health and wellbeing and have worked in both the NHS and the voluntary sector. The main approaches I draw on in my work are person-centred and existential. I am committed to working ethically and I am a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). I also hold an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate.
