Charlotte O’Dair - Humanistic Counsellor

Maybe you want to talk about something specific: addictions, anxiety and depression, bereavements, disordered eating, abuse, trauma, relationship breakdown. Maybe you don’t know what is wrong, but you feel alone, lost, overwhelmed or disconnected. Whatever it is that brings you to me, I will meet you with kindness and compassion.

I strive to create a space where we connect as equals, and where you feel that you are accepted exactly as you are. We will explore together, at your pace. It is my hope that you will gain more awareness, which can lead to a greater sense of freedom and choice, stronger relationships and more self-compassion. I have an interest in meditation and mindfulness, which we can incorporate into the work if this appeals.

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Humanistic Psychotherapy and Counselling from the University of Brighton. Prior to this, I was an arts producer working in a range of settings including Tate Modern, the Barbican and the Roundhouse. I produced large-scale projects and performances with diverse groups of people, such as people who were or who had been homeless, older people in care homes and children and young people.

There are many different kinds of therapy, but research suggests that it is the quality of the therapeutic relationship that is most important. I will strive to ensure that we have an open, collaborative and strong relationship. Sessions are £55.
