About New Road Psychotherapy Centre
Founded over 18 years ago, by Psychotherapist, Rory Singer, New Road Psychotherapy has evolved into a trusted destination for counselling and psychotherapy. Initially established as The Centre for Mindfulness-Based Education in April 2005, Rory's vision was to integrate Buddhism and mindfulness practices in counselling and psychotherapeutic settings.
Rory's deep connection to Buddhist philosophy, nurtured in his early twenties during his five-year journey as a Buddhist novice and monk in the Thai Forest Tradition, has significantly inspired his approach to psychotherapy and the atmosphere at New Road.
As New Road Psychotherapy evolved, Rory recognised the need for a more inclusive name that reflects the diverse modalities offered by the centre's psychotherapists and counsellors. Thus, the centre transformed four years later, adopting the name "New Road Psychotherapy."
The centre's commitment to diversity is evident in the wide range of therapeutic modalities, including Gestalt, Person-centred, Psychodynamic, Integrative, Transactional Analysis (TA), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Existential, Contemplative and Transpersonal Psychologies. We work with individuals, couples and groups.
At New Road Psychotherapy, the therapists facilitate a welcoming, non-dogmatic, ethical, and inclusive psychotherapeutic and learning environment. Clients are encouraged to explore their inner and outer experiences, emotions, and beliefs in a safe and supportive space; grounded in experiential and theoretical understanding.
Emphasising equality and acceptance, New Road Psychotherapy does not discriminate based on religion, race, class, sexual orientation, gender identity, cultural background, or physical conditions.
With a love of creativity and imagination, the centre fosters a transformative atmosphere where clients can authentically express themselves, cultivate resilience, and embrace well-being. New Road intends to hold an ethos of simplicity, humility, and an appreciation of the natural, imperfect, and unpretentious. To find joy and beauty in the ordinary and learn from the ever-changing patterns of existence.
As a beacon of compassion and support, New Road Psychotherapy remains dedicated to helping individuals navigate their unique path to self-awareness and personal growth. The centre thrives as a place of healing, development, and transformation through an open and adaptable approach.
