Amanda Roach -
Humanistic Counsellor
I am Amanda, an experienced Humanistic practitioner. The way I work is person-centred, client-led, encompassing elements of Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Jungian influences. I believe you know yourself better than I do, so I will not tell you what to do, but if you are stuck, I can provide a gentle nudge to help you find your answers. I am trained in Mindfulness, and this is something we can incorporate into our work together if you choose to.
My specialisms include anxiety and depression. I understand the debilitating nature of mental health conditions. There is no need to put on a ‘brave face’ for me. I will accept you wholeheartedly in any form. My goal is to enable my clients to feel the best they can and work towards embracing their authentic self.
Another specialism of mine is chronic pain, infertility, childlessness and their relationship to female conditions such as endometriosis, PMOS and PMDD and the significant impact they can have on navigating daily life while living with chronic illness. I aim to help you feel heard and understand deeply the sometimes-constant fight to be taken seriously, often requiring those in need to advocate for oneself.
My work is not limited to these areas; I am open to working with any issue life may bring. I have experience with grief and relationship issues etc. I know what feels important to my clients can change weekly.
I have previous experience working for the NHS providing counselling for staff and now work in private practice. I have 15 years’ experience in Wellbeing prior to training as a therapist.
My practice is non-judgmental and LGBTQ+ friendly.
