There is a kind of laughter that is genuinely funny, and that is the strange part. 

It arrives at the edge of a great deal of earnest effort: the years of practice, the accumulated understanding, the careful construction of a position on things, and then the sudden recognition that the position itself was the problem. It is not mockery, though relief is folded into it.
