Catherine Michell - Child and Adolescent Integrative Therapist

About Catherine

Catherine works with young adults, adolescents and children. Her empathic, warm and responsive approach involves tailoring therapy to the individual young person, using a range of counselling modalities. All of these are underpinned by science-backed research, and also her training in the use of the arts in therapy.

Experience

Catherine has clinical experience working with a range of issues including self-esteem, stress, anxiety, depression, self-harm, trauma, emotional regulation, ADHD, autism, school issues, family conflict, life transitions and bereavement.

She has experience hosting mental health programmes and parenting courses. Catherine understands the immigrant experience, having been born and raised in South Africa.

Having previously practised as a solicitor at a large City firm, she also understands first-hand the stresses involved in the workplace.

Outside of her therapy work Catherine is a trustee of the Garden Route Children’s Trust, which funds nutritional school breakfasts for South African children, a role which she is passionate about.
