Kim Davies - Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counsellor

I offer a welcoming space where you can pause and reflect on what matters to you, without fear of judgement or the need to be anything other than you are. You may wish to focus on a particular issue, such as anxiety, grief or relationship difficulties, or to undergo a more general exploration into your inner world and the way you are living.

I have a deep respect for the complexity and unique experience of each person who comes to see me. My aim is to offer a collaborative relationship in which we can explore whatever you bring, at a pace that feels right for you.

Counselling is a fluid and lively process that can facilitate self-awareness and lasting change. Gaining clarity about the way you experience the world can help you come to terms with pain and difficulty, and see where you may be making choices that are rooted in past strategies which no longer serve you. It can also encourage a greater sense of freedom about who you are, and how you might live.

About me

I am a long-time practitioner of insight meditation (mindfulness), and believe that this helps me to bring compassion and steadiness to my work. If clients are interested, I can offer mindfulness techniques as a way of building awareness and tolerance of difficult feelings.

I hold a postgraduate diploma in humanistic psychotherapeutic counselling from the University of Brighton, and my training has encompassed person-centred, Gestalt and existential approaches. As part of my training, I worked in the trauma-informed team of therapists at Brighton Women’s Centre. I have also volunteered at Cruse Bereavement Care for several years, supporting many clients through grief and loss.
