Soothe & Bloom:

Infant Music Therapy Group

With paediatric music therapist Hannah Hayes

Soothe & Bloom is a six-week music therapy group supporting caregivers and their newborn babies (eight weeks - six months) to connect and grow through nurturing musical experiences.

Thursdays 12-1pm, start date yet to be confirmed (estimated mid-February)

About the group:
Join paediatric music therapist Hannah Hayes (@soul.birdtherapies) in a gentle and nurturing space to learn how your baby uniquely communicates with you. This small group will be tailored to each individual parent and child, and will be welcoming to all - whether you've had a difficult birthing experience or journey to parenthood, have a baby with a health condition or your own mental/physical health needs to consider, or are simply looking to connect with other parents and their baby(s) in a safe and therapeutic environment.

Through gentle lullabies and songs (some with signs), and new sound experiences to promote bonding and attachment, you will learn how your baby communicates with you, and nurture their sensory, emotional and relational development.

About Hannah:

Experienced in working with pre-term babies in NICU, and with babies with complex medical needs in a hospital setting, Hannah is passionate about using music to support parental wellbeing and promote positive bonding experiences between caregiver and baby(s). Using voice, guitar, ukulele, and other musical instruments, she seeks to create a womb-like environment in which you and your baby(s) can share special early musical experiences together.

The details:

Hannah hopes to begin Soothe & Bloom in mid-February. The group will initially run for 6 weeks, with sessions taking place on Thursdays from 12-1pm at New Road Psychotherapy in Hove (73 Church Road). Cost: £120 for all 6 sessions.
