Ros Ukoko-Rivers - Humanistic Integrative Counsellor

About Ros

Qualified in October 2021 with Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling (BACP Accredited Course) from Wealden Institute and a fully insured member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I work from a Person Centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis (TA) approach to provide a shared confidential space of warmth, honesty and trust. I give an open space to your thoughts, experiences and emotions to support you and facilitate positive change in your life at your own pace, in order to help you find your own way.

I believe each individual is unique and deserves a safe and confidential space to be heard, regardless of race, religion, class, sexual orientation, cultural or physical conditions.

I am also qualified in counselling children and young people where I use play therapy, including sand, art, toys, storytelling and games both outdoor and indoor, developing practical strategies that can be used at home. I also use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in order to fully assist my clients on their journey. I believe everyone has a right to be valued and to be accepted.

I have worked and continue to work with a wide range of issues including, self-harm, anxiety, LGBTQ issues, trauma, racism, sexual abuse, depression, childhood trauma, Trans issues, stress, loneliness, Isolation, relationship issues, eating disorder, Identity crisis, menopausual issues, low self-esteem and bereavement.
