Tash Young - Psychodynamic Therapist

We all live in the conversation between our internal experience and the challenges of the outer world.

At times we face difficulties: trauma, bereavement addictive behaviours, abuse, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, or other challenges. When thoughts and feelings become overwhelming or intrusive, therapy can give time and space to process and reflect. In some cases, it gives an opportunity to practice new ways of being in relationships.

At other times,  people seek therapy from a position of curiosity, with no particular reason in mind.

Everyone is welcome.

My intention is to offer a safe, non-judgemental space for you to explore your internal world and find a way to make the most of your life, in a way that feels true for you.

I aim to be actively welcoming and inclusive. My approach is one that makes room for you, whatever your race, class, sexual orientation, gender identity, spiritual beliefs, culture,  political position or physical condition. Please feel welcome to be yourself and let me know if you need any specific support to enable your full involvement in therapy.

I have a Postgraduate diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy. This means I have a special interest in how you have been impacted by early childhood experiences and we may consider your unconscious in the work we do together.

Primarily, though, your therapy sessions are about whatever you wish to explore, think about or question. I aim to be open and explorative, allowing plenty of time and space to learn about yourself without judgement. Whilst therapy can be serious and difficult, there is often a surprising amount of playfulness and humour that is possible in a safe, reflective space.

-I have completed training in trauma informed practice, suicide prevention, working with survivors of childhood abuse and those living with complex trauma.

-I have experience of working with people with the gift of neurodiversity.

I am a member of the BACP and work within their ethical framework.
