Vivian Leong- Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist

I am Vivian, one of the relationship therapists at New Road Psychotherapy Centre. I see individuals and couples online and in person for a wide range of sexual and relationship issues for psychotherapy that spans both short and longer term. I come from a counselling and Non-Violent Communication background prior to studying Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy. I am British born and speak English as my first language.

I understand the pain and stress relationship and sexual difficulties can exert on the well-being of an individual and couple, and the broader impact these can have on the experience and enjoyment of their lives. I understand the courage it takes to take the first step to begin to tackle these often delicate and long-standing problems, and feel that my best qualities as a therapist is being emotionally in tune with the client, and conveying a down-to-earthness and a very ‘human’ quality that allows the client to feel at ease and accepted, no matter the discomfort of the issue at hand.

I'm passionate about helping individuals to overcome sexual difficulties, emotional struggles and self-esteem issues that may be holding them back from leading more fulfilling lives and from enjoying their relationships and sex lives. I find fulfilment in my work when I witness the benefit therapy brings to individuals and couples as they begin to experience increased stability, harmony and greater understanding of themselves, their bodies, and their relationships.

I have a lot of heart for my clients and I believe they are able to feel this. So once a person starts working with me, they stick with me; I haven't yet lost a client due to personality differences or therapeutic ineffectiveness, I'm happy to say. I feel a strong sense of responsibility towards my clients and I have confidence in my ability to help them make a difference in their lives.
