BOOK A CONSULTATION BOOK

A Brighton & Hove community of therapists, built over two decades.

New Road brings together experienced, independent therapists who share a commitment to ethical care, ongoing learning, and helping people find the right support for where they are.

A place, a community and a way of working.

New Road was created to make good therapy easier to find. We are an independent collective of therapists based in Brighton & Hove, offering individual, couples, group and low-cost therapy. Online and in-person availability depends on the service and therapist. Our role is simple: to connect you with a therapist whose experience, approach and way of working feels right for you.

Why New Road was created

I founded New Road in 2005 after seeing how hard it could be for people to find a therapist they felt truly understood.

I wanted to build a place that values independent thinking and care — for both the people who come for therapy and the therapists who offer it.

Nearly twenty years on, that purpose remains the same.

A community, not a directory

We are not a faceless listing service. We know our therapists, the work they do and the values they bring to their practice.

We only collaborate with and recommend therapists we trust to do great work and treat people in good hands.

Online, but rooted in a real community.

Our online therapy is the same high standard of care we expect in our rooms. Wherever you are, you’re connected to therapists who work closely together and share our values. Whether online or in person, you’ll never be just a number.

What we stand for

Truthfulness We are open and honest about how we work, communicate clearly and build trust at every stage.
Kindness We treat everyone with warmth, empathy and respect, helping people feel heard and valued.
Wisdom We bring experience, context and thoughtful judgement to each person’s circumstances.
Diligence We work attentively and thoroughly, keep improving and put each person’s wellbeing first.
Ethical care We uphold strong professional standards, protect confidentiality and put your wellbeing first.

The people behind the day-to-day.

Four people helping applicants, therapists and clients find their way around New Road.

Rory founded New Road and guides its clinical work. His years of meditation practice and teaching have shaped his interest in how people learn, change and understand themselves. He values a thoughtful, unhurried approach and a community where therapists can learn from one another.

Juliana is New Road’s Clinical Manager, bringing clinical experience and a commitment to compassionate care to the core team. Her own background and lived experience inform her interest in connecting with people across different cultures and identities.

Esther leads New Road’s marketing and community work. She helps people get to know New Road and builds connections with the wider community, sharing what is happening here and helping people find their way to our services, courses and events.

Tessa leads the administrative side of New Road and co-ordinates the Hove centre. Her work helps keep the day-to-day running smoothly for clients and therapists. She brings a warm, thoughtful approach and an interest in making people feel heard, accepted and included.
